Are there any special instructions for affixing labels to my valuables?

Our labels feature a special adhesive that takes 24 to 48 hours to bond completely to the item's surface. For optimal results, thoroughly clean the "future-label-site" surface. Then, apply the label firmly and uniformly. Labels bond immediately, although it takes 1-2 days to reach its full strength. We recommend applying the label on a visible area of your valuable item. This makes it easier for finders to report and return your lost item.

Do labels adhere and stay on all valuables?

Our Personalized ID Labels will adhere and stay on most valuables. The exceptions are cloths and surfaces that are extremely curved. In addition, surfaces treated with silicone or other substances that are meant to keep the surface “non-stick” will prevent the labels from bonding properly.

How do I register my labels online?

Go to the Login page, click on "New User", and set up an account. Then, enter any or all of the ID codes on your package and the description of your valuable items. If you're an existing member entering codes for additional valuables, make sure your "Account Info" is up-to-date to ensure proper return of any lost items.

What is an ID code?

An ID code is a distinct, alphanumeric number that is used to identify a particular item as belonging to a certain user. Each label has a unique ID code.

How do I differentiate between a letter and a number on a label's ID code?

If you are not certain whether or not a label ID code is a letter or a number, these guidelines will help:

D = 0 "zero"
O = 0 "zero"
B = 8 "eight"
G = 6 "six"
I = 1 "one"
S = 5 "five"

Whether you enter a letter or the number for the ID code our system will validate the value with our database.

For example, the value after the X on the ID Code "XIPKLOM23" can be entered as the letter "I" or as the number "1" and the value after the L can be entered as the letter "O" or the number "0".

What is an activation code?

This is the code you receive by email when you make an online purchase of labels through the ImHONEST.com Web site. You only have to enter it once - when you register the first item in your account.

How does the subscription get activated?

Once you have registered your labels on the ImHONEST.com Web site, click on the "Activate Now" link on the Account Overview page to begin the subscription period. Once done, you'll see your subscription renewal date under the "Expires On" header. A month before your subscription expiration, you'll get a subscription renewal reminder by e-mail.

What happens if I give away one of my labels to a friend?

Once you have registered and activated (in your name) at least one label in your package, anyone with whom you share labels can activate their subscription as soon as they create a new account and register their label(s).
